Well we have had our new Cruiser for 3 weeks now and am I impressed ? you bet. We have just returned from a Trip to Sydney down the New England Highway accross to Canberra and back up the Newell Highway to home. Couldn't take a trick tough had head wind the whole trip but we still averaged 18.6 ltrs Per 100ks. I feel this is good being that it is brand new and we were towing a 21ft van and we had head winds the whole trip so I expect the it will only improve, heres hoping. At least it was better that my 3Ltr Patrol. I got the first service at Toyota in Rockdale and was impressed with their service until I looked at my intercooler and the fins on it had been bent. I took it back to show them and they told me they must have been bent by the water pressure of the pressure cleaner when they cleaned the car. But don't worry it won't affect the performance and the will only get worse in time. The service manager did try to straighten them. But it shouldn't have happened in the first place.

Crowie,

get them to change the intercooler fans straightaway. Check your radiator too. That's not acceptable.

My intercooler fins got bent the same way but at least I did it myself. Giving myself a good butt kicking right now.
I'm glad I ain't too scared to be lazy

Agree! Agree! Agree!, that should not have happened, they have stuffed up with the pressure cleaner and should replace the intercooler and radiator if that has been screwed as well.

Don't take no for an answer and ask why you are even argueing about it.

Hope all goes well

Crowie, your 18.6l/100k is a fair figure, given that your vehicle is still "tight".

My '02 TD42T Patrol returned almost the same figure on a recent 14,000km trek from Perth, then east and up thru the GCR to Uluru, Alice etc. then to Darwin, Kimberley, West coast, Pilbara and back home towing an 18'6" Sunland Longreach. Ticked over 80,000k by the time we got back, so it's almost run in!!!!

Cheers

I see you have a bigger tank
Were did you get it?
Do you get the full 170lt usable litres?
how low does it hang

Were have you got the carputer?
It looks like a normal case
Does it run on 12V or inverter?

The tank is fully usable got it from opposite Lock. The car computer sits under the pass seat. It runs off the bat without inverter. Got a 12v power supply from the states. The fuel tank has no clearence issues.

Hi guys , i have had a v8 gxl wagon now since 1 july and i love it,the power and grunt is excellent compared to the hilux 3 lt turbo diesel with a chip i had.Leave it for dead,i can now go up the range in 4 th and 5th instead of 2nd and 3rd.It tows my trackabout camper trailer like you dont even know it is there except for the hills.Fuel economy is good, filled it the other day and the speedo odometer read 697 kms and i put in 76 lts full to the brime.Thats around town.We went from Mackay NQ to Cairns on 1 tank which is 750 kms.Overall cant complain, still like the old 75,78.79 series dash.

Cheers

I have to agree I just love driving ours. Nearly have 5000ks on it now and I am very happy with the fuel consumption.
