I am coming to the end of the lease on my GU1 4.2L TD (235000 k's) and have to make a decision as to keeping it or updating. I am considering a GU4 3.0L auto but require the ability to tow a Trackabout Safari c/t. Can't afford a 4.2L GU4 and wouldn't mind an auto...but the 3.0L is so small...but... Help me out!

you will be suprised how much you can get for your 4.2.
Mate of
mine searched for 3-5mths and only got one last week, and paid quite a bit for it. he only found 5 in that time too (4.2s)
Go an auto conversion on your current bus.. its already setup, you know its history, and its just run in. Why sell it?

Phil
Just a quick one to say that I have a GU III 3.0 and a Trackabout Safari and it pulls it along quite
well so far to anywhere we have wanted to go with it. I have just recently had gas injection put on and it has made quite a difference overall both to power and economy so that may be something worth considering as
well if you go with the 3.0.
Although as others have said if the 4.2 is doing what you want and you have already put the time, effort and dollars into setting it up to suit why get rid of it. Personally I looked for months for a 4.2 and was unable to find one so ended up with the 3.0. Dont get me wrong I am more than happy with it bu maybe I am one of the lucky ones :)

Just go a 4800 Phil , or at least check it out, they are a breath of fresh air.
You might even save money if on gas and range isn't a big issue.
