I don't know how many times I've been fishing in the fitzroy but for what ever reason, which I haven't found, I still haven't caught myself a decent feed of fish.
Then every year they have the Barra Bounty and the river never seems to let them down.

Murphy's law of fishing.

Tip 1. Plan your fishing trip before the Barra Bounty is held.

Hey Franga

You wouldn't want to eat those Barra anyway they are swamp dogs.

What sh1ts me is there are 3 Barra over 100 cm dead and there swamp dogs, so you wouldn't eat them, so why didn't they catch and release.

So many people don't realize that Barra are homafrodites, at the length of 55 cm a male Barra turns into a female and is now a breeder.

In the NT and WA it is illegal to keep a fish under 55 cm and in WA it is illegal to keep one over 85 cm I think this should be across the board as the larger one taste like crap and you are killing a breeder.

Just my thoughts.

Cheers Steve.
