Hi evryone....an update on the kleenoil bypass filter connections as dicussed in thread 50844....when you buy one of these systems it is the questions you don't ask that cause you the most grief...and often people will give you just vague answers without any detail BUT not so on this forum as there are those who's input becomes invaluable as we struggle with the many aspects of 4WD's ,accessories and the like...etc...etc...so where do you connect it to...remove the oil sender switch and replace it with a tee piece one for the oil switch to go back on and one to go to your new oil filter bypass unit( if you have a after market turbo fitted sometimes this is also where they take the oil lube for the bearings) and now the most important part you simply go to the local diesel turbo fitter place and for $70 they have a special tool which punches a CLEAN hole in such a way to make it "bell" inwards to this they tap a 3/8 BSP thread and will fit a an adapter of you choice which suits your application ( and when they do it no metal bits go into the sump) and they know exactly where it should go, above the oil level AND so that it does not interfere with anything inside( of course you need to have confidence in their expertise othewise search for those who have such...I also am supplying a bung to block it off because I getting this done first and then fitting the bypass system up later) and this is where you connect the outlet hose...hope this helps all those of you who are interested...any more questions, please ask and later I will let you all know if it was worth the $350 or not (nothing ventured nothing gained or lost)cheers Phil

Franz use to but not sure if they still do, had a set-up that used 4 ply toilet rolls in the filter.

It was a cylinder and had a tube similar to the doughnut machines in the middle of the cylinder, and depending on the application you needed it for the cylinder would hold X amount of 4 ply rolls.

I think for the likes of a Toyota or Nissan etc a 3 roll set-up was more than capable.

the oil was pumped down through the rolls and that gathered any crap in the oil.

So you would just throw away the roll and replace them with new ones and top up the oil.

I help my brother in-law with his farm machinery to fit them, and this save him a lot in oil and down time as well.
