Does anyone know of a reputable in-car computer installer/supplier in
Sydney or
Brisbane ?
Also, has anyone any experience with Polares (www.polares.com.au) or any other brand of in-car computers, especially over rough terrain and running track mapping/navigation software (like oziexplorer) and GPS via touchscreen ?

Considering they are unwilling to openly disclose their price I suspect they are likely to be very expensive. IMHO small brand name (3 years warranty) laptop would be far better. You could easily set it up with GPS, rear view camera and whatever else you would need.
Cheers

The best solution I have found yet is this one....
http://www.vmscarpc.com.au/
However.....they want around $2600 for it.
It has oziexplorerCE already loaded + Street navigation + DVD, MPEG4, MP3, Dual zone (front screen GPS, rears DVD), AM/FM radio, Reverse camera input....
I'm currently looking out for an alternative.....
Someone plese help!

I am running a laptop under the
seat with a touch screen and find it very good. The unit slides into a standard DINN slot and works a treat

I have a incar computer installed in my new 76 Series Cruiser and it goes great. I run windows XP Professional. I also run Trackranger Pro 6 and co-pilot laptop ten. I have the unit under the left front
seat. My local audio installer put it in it all works great. I will take some photos and put them on my profile.

The Current photos are from when I had it in the Patrol I had and traded recently. Will put new ones up as soon as I can find our camera.
