I have heard the price to supply and fit actuator (one piece lifting mechanism for Jack is about $1000)
Does anyone have any eperience of this?
Yenchy
P.S. Is there a second hand / wrecker in Stdney that anyone can recommend?
You could toss in reliable mechanic if you knoe one too and don't mind

Hi WDR,
Not much help, but if it's any consolation the 356 Porsche Carrera GT has a leather strap with holes in it which is used to raise and lower the windows. It is fixed to the bottom of the window and comes out the top of the door.
Might be an answer for a Jack. LOL!
FWIW an electrically controlled external Rear Vision mirror for my Disco was quoted at $750 fitted.
Found a 2nd hand one for $160 and took about three quarters of an hour to fit.
Good Luck with your search.

I did precisely that on my old hilux and lived with it for long time before I found a cheap replacement

I suggest a panelbeater to do the fitting, since they do this stuff all the time.
They should also be able to source a second hand part from a wrecker as
well, otherwise grab the yellow pages for wreckers and let your fingers do the walking. You could also google for a 4x4 wrecker.
Your other option is to get the parts from the USA, this place has the electric motor for about $US120 and shipping would be about $US40
http://www.rockauto.com There are also other
places over there, try a google for Isuzu Trooper parts. You can get a part number listing here which could be helpful

Don't know what happened there - part of my post disappeared.
This place for parts possibility
http://www.rockauto.com
The other link for part numbers and parts diagrams which could help in a US search. There are other
places over there which sell all sorts of Jack parts, do a google for Isuzu Trooper parts or visit planetisuzu.com for links.
I just bought a timing belt,
water pump, idler and tensioner pully kit for $AU159 landed at my door. I didn't even bother pricing the parts locally. A couple of years ago I got a new O2 sensor from the US for less than $AU100 when the local part is $660 - glad I didn't buy it here, because it wasn't faulty.....

Ha a problem on the jack with the switch for the electric window (quoted $300) Used the one from the rear window as there are only the two of us.

WDR...had to replace the lifer mechanism in my Brother Isuzu MU. I bet its identical to the Jack. Was quoted hundreds for genuine but found the entire mech after market and brand new for about $200 at a wrecker in
Perth.
Removed the motor and fitted to new lifter and 10 mins later I had it in the door, hooked up and good as new.
I would try the wreckers for aftermarket NEW parts.
Otherwise I used to deal with a Commercial wrecker in Smithfield in
Sydney...great and always available bits.
All the best
Matt.
