Has anybody noticed Vegemite size has decreased. What used to be a 455g jar is now 400g but the dearly beloved assures me the price didn't decrease. A 13% increase in one hit.
I think I need something to do, I must be bored to notice.(lol)

We don't use much Vegemite these days as our 3 boys have flown the nest. I bought the tubes of Vegemite to take camping and blow-me-down if it doesn't have that old-fashioned shiny look and spread smoother/further than the jar variety. Anyone remember when it was soft and smooth, not that hard lumpy stuff they have in the jars these days? It must be the Yank cook they employ now.

A few years ago the flavour changed so I complained. Got a letter back saying that as the product is made from yeast that is a living organism's small variances occured and they had not changed the recipe. They also sent me a box of large jars. A couple of months latter I noted a small item in the papers saying that the brewery that they got their yeast from had been experimenting with new brews and this caused a change in the flavour of the yeast. So much for quality control taste monitoring !

Colgate-Parmolive are doing the same with their soap, which is now made in Malaysia.

reduced from 120g (approx) to 90.

We're now looking at an alternative brand.

On the same topic of things getting smaller gradually -- have you seen how small a big mac is now ???

Buns are much smaller than they used to be ...
