Anyone had experience with these vans? They seem to be
well finished and going by weight must be reasonably solid.
Thanks for any info.
Cheers Axle.

Axle
Some years years ago a relly of
mine had a regent, from memory 19 or 20 footer tandem. Towed it around OZ about twice in 5 years plus other smaller trips. Once again from memory the only problem that developed after 2-3 years was a rather elusive
water leak that he finally tracked down to a roof mounted vent. Iwould add that although his tow vehicle was a Nissan Patrol most of his travels were on bitumen with some minor rough roads.
I hope this helps in some small way
Cheers

We have a Regal 20Ft full van that I am told is a brother/sister to the Regent. We have owned the Regal for just over 3 yrs and couldn't be more happy with it. They are a timber framed van that makes them a bit heaver but are very
well built and tow like a dream. The only problem has been a
water leak into the boot that I found and fixed and is a common occurrence with any van. Only use it for highway so can`t give you any info on off-road as it is not an off-road van. Regards Nav.

Axle,
We are on to our second Regent. Towed the first one about 15,000km before trading it in for a shower/
toilet model. From my experience it is a good, solidly built van that tows
well. I had one problem with the first one which was that the drain pipe from the AC touched the flue of the fridge and gave of an awful acrid smell. Called the constructor (Leisure Caravans in Campbellfield, Vic) who fixed it the same day.
The second one is new and barely used so far so I can't comment yet but I would not have got another Regent if I had concerns.

We have just replaced our 21ft rear door ,rear ensuite,Compass caravan with a 22ft mid door Regent. The Compass was only 2years old and a great van but we wanted to try something different. We have just returned from
Port Douglas to our home on the
Gold Coast in the new van and it has performed beatifully. It is a lot heavier than the Compass, about 200kgs on the tare by the plate, but by being a mid door the axles are also further back so the weight on the towball is also higher. Our van has a 4inch chassis raiser, 15inch 6 stud
wheels,and axles rated at 2900 kgs.The 2x 90 ltr
water tanks are mounted at the front of the van and I have spoken to Regent about moving them further towards the back as I feel the van would be better balanced. The staff at Regent have been extreemly helpfull with their advice and the only problem so far is a faulty
water tank gauge sender, which they are sending to me in the post.I think if you buy a Regent you should be very happy with your choice of van. Regards Bryan.

gda we just finnished towing our Regent offroad poptop 18000km halfway round Oz. Dirt roads corragations, gullys, could not break it (luckily) Seams to be as tough as nails,Think my r51 pathfinder may break befor the van.
Was really great towing and sleeping in luxury everynight in the bush or on the side of a
cliff, where ever the pathy went the van just followd. Highly recomend Regent..
