Sand Man (SA)
Bugga, Bugga, Bugga,
After bragging to Bill (Post 51679) that I would drag the Cobb out and whip up a Roast tonight, I did just that and noticed it was on a "bit of a lean".
It would appear I have compressed it at some time and broken the base's supporting bracket.
Temporarily propped it level with the insertion of a metal thread resting on the broken internal bracket so I could have that roast still, but I am in need of a more permanent solution.
Can one buy a new bottom base for the Cobb?
The plastic base surround still looks sound so I don't need the stainless steel base yet.
Bugga! bugga! bugga!
Still, it could have been much worse if I didn't notice the problem until the next trip.

The contact number in Vic is 03-95325611
Good luck

Hi Sand Man
I had one break too ,made a metal bracket to fit behind original(complete with drilled hole) new rivet put in , fixed and working fine! Cost :- 1 rivet and small piece of aluminium and a blob of hot glue to position bracket to enable me to rivet base back on easily. Cheers

Thanks fella's,
Will investigate all options. Don't want to "upgrade" to the SS mesh type base unless I have to, because that introduces another learning curve, purchase of a "bra", etc.
