I am planning to meet up with some folk from the Hill in January. The general consensus is somewhere on the coast so I was wondering about the Otway Ranges. Bit of beach, bit of mountains, rainforest type stuff and waterfalls and about the same distance for both families.

I am looking for recommendations on where to camp, a bush camp would be nice but then again we could go the CV Park thing if that would be better.

I don't particularly want to be exposed to the southerly wind so in amongst the trees would be nice. But the girls will want the beach too.

What do you all recommend.

We just came back with the family from Blanket Bay. We all enjoyed our first camping experience there together with the kids, Kristina 4yo and Boris jr who's 18 months. Recommend the place. Heaps of koalas, wallabies and parrots, nice beach, drop toilets, non drinking water supply, fire pits and tables, plenty of tree cover too.

Regards Boris

Agree with Blanket Bay above, but also Johanna Beach too, though no fires on the grass there. Long drops near by part. Some of these can be crowded though.Aire Crossing too, Lake Elizabeth are two others. Dandos is not bad either.

Have a look at Parkweb info.

Give me a call when you are coming down Duncs. Bonz is near by too

Aire river east and west are good, fires are allowed on the east side and there is nice river swimming. Redwoods is another reasonable spot.
Near blanket bay there is also parker hill and crayfish bay, the latter is 4wd only last I checked and can be a bit exposed if it is windy.

happy camping

G'DAy Duncs,

Is the camping tent only, or camper trailer?
