Sounds like you have one of those plastic Phantom rings , tucked away somewhere. Or are you too young to remember them ?

I was always a bit interested in Diana , myself. She looked pretty cool in the comic versions that I saw :))

I had two Phantom rings as a kid.

One was a rubber one which you dabbed in a stamp pad before "whacking" someone and left that unique "mark of the Phantom" on the recipient's jaw.

The other ring was metal, with "glow in the dark" eyes.
I used to lay in bed at night and sh*t myself every time I looked at it.

Oh, the simple things that amused us:-)

and you're not safe in the big smoke either because everyone knows that the Phantom often goes into the city to strike fear into the hearts of mortal men.

I hope you blokes are not taking the mickey out of my hero!!!
Just as a matter of interest, I still collect Phantom stuff, I have about 12 different rings and a collection of comics going back over 50 years. My collection is probably estimated at about $100,000.

Hi Phantom,

I get the feeling that the market for the comics may have peaked about 10 years ago. Ebay is killing it for the collector.

I sold all my seconds (about 150 including 1000edition) on ebay recently and only got $130.

Perhaps there is no new collectors anymore, with all the modern time wasting stuff.

I think my collection will just become part of my estate, and get sold for next to nothing when I die.

Alan
