I had all kinds of hassles with IE7. I then uninstalled it and reverted back to IE6, which runs sweetly on my computer. Update isn't always upgrade....lol

There is not enough or adequate, derogatory, abusive etc etc words in the English Language to describe IE7.

I just switched to FireFox and all is fantastic AND NO drama's in doing so.

Micro Soft have finally emulated the Do-do bird with IE7 - you know! constantly turning circles till their heads have gone up their (you know what).

I run both IE7 and Firefox and I have no trouble with either. I believe Firefox provides more features and I use it most of the time.

I run Vista home premium.

Paul,

I am assuming you are running XP (which came with IE 6 from memory)

Do you have XP Service Pack 2 installed plus all the other updates? If some of these are missing, you could have problems, although I would expect Windows Update or IE installer to work this out - but we are talking about MS aren't we.

It might also pay to download the standalone installer for IE7 rather than letting windows update do it.

Also, is your version of Windows legit? This can also cause issues.

No, No, don't do it TD,

You made the correct decision to back out. Leave it at that mate.

There are two ways to back out of IE7.

The first method is to simply uninstall Internet Explorer. Because you can't delete IE6, this method will uninstall IE7 and leave IE6 as it was before the "upgrade".

If for some reason you can't uninstall, restore Windows to a pre-IE7 upgrade level via system restore function.

I too tried IE7 and didn't like it. It wasn't causing a problem but I just didn't like the new "features". IE6 works perfectly well and gives you all you need.

If you want to use IE7 then I suggest the only time to load it is with a fresh install. DON"T use Windows Update to load it! That's the only way I've had any success with it. Runs fine that way.
Firefox is better though ;-)
