hi all,
Just wondering if anyone has feedback on Cooper ST-C tyres? I currently run MTR's on my Patrol, but am doing too much highway travel to justify muddies.
thanks
Trolute

From what I have heard, as long as your a copper fan that is, is that they are good, but we havent run them (we had the stt's on and they were great even on the black stuff)

Trolute,
I put a set of Cooper ST on the Troopie last May.
Since then They have carried the Troopie through the Canning, Simpson crossing,
Hay River and a run down to the
Vic High Country. In between daily trips to work and some 100kph trips from
Alice Springs to
Sydney and a trip to Victoria and back.
Still going strong with no flats.
4 of the 5 vehicles in the
Vic High Country last week had Cooper ST and all the vehicles, Patrol, Prado, Pajero and the Troopie had good grip and comfortable ride.
They are a good all round tyre.

Hey controlled , have had cooper st on my Courier for over a year and they have had one puncture (wattle sapling) other than that they have been
well above what I expected.
A little noisy on the road and brilliant in the bush.
The bush work that I do is heavy going and compared to the bridgestones there is no comparison.
You will find them excellent.

I had a cooper st fail at 15,000 kilometres only to have the local dealer tell me it was normal wear and tear. I haven't been back and will never buy Coopers again! Don't expect any compensation if your Coopers fail early!

Had a ST fail at 68,000k after doing the Canning, Gunbarrel, Simpson and
Vic High Country twice. Cooper paid for damage to vehicle caused by tyre and replaced all tyres at pro-rata rate. DOUG go down and rattle that dealer of yours he aint looking after you mate>

Hi Trolute,
I have friends who each have ST and ST-C. From what I understand, the ST are made from a harder wearing rubber compund, and consequently have a mileage guarantee (80,000 Km I think, depending on size ?). Whereas the ST-C is a softer compound rubber, with no mileage guarantee. So reading between the lines, you probably won't get the mileage out of a set of ST-C's that you would from ST's.
Both of them are happy with their tyres - only used for off-road trips- not day to day usage. Just my thoughts.
Cheers, Mark.

If the tyres are only used for off-road, then the (so called) warranty is not worth the paper it's written on..
Read the small print !!- not between the lines.

They do honour the warranty just push them a bit, I did and got the warranty honoured after canning, simpson, vic h.c. and numerous other scrub trips after 68K

The ST-C's are "chip resistant" ST's and they dont have the mileage warranty that the ST's have.
I had a set and killed them in 3000 kms around
Broken Hill on rocky tracks, the blocks fractured, tore, broke and disappeared, the tyres were still serviceable but they took a beating. Cooper replaced the lot (after some mildly strong prodding from me) and a question and answer session - What pressures you running etc etc. The dealer tried to ProRata me, but I got them fully replaced. The next set I didnt take into the rocks around Broken Hil but they did good in
the Pyrenees and they are GREAT on road, quiet and really
well balanced.
I sold them to my Brother and await the STT's being soon fitted to my naked rims. STT's rock!

I've been running STC's on the Defender for the past 25K klms without any problems and covering a variety of terrain..
Softer compound, no warranty, but
well suited for outback travel.
That's my experience.....
