With the amount of posts on here about NextG, it might have been worthwhile David setting up a seperate section dedicated to NextG until this little saga has ended.
That way all the questions and replies and info passed on here could all be in one area instead of being spread around the
forum in seperate posts.
I understand everyone having genuine questions, however no one seems to do a search on NextG on this site, they just start a new post, and lets face it, a lot of the questions asked about NextG are very similar...... should I or shouldnt I, is this phone better than that one, should I buy a Nokia/ZTE/LG/Samsung, can I get reception in Woop Woop or Kickatinalong, does it have an external antenna connection blah blah blah.
Come on 28 Jan just so we can get over it all.
Cheers,
Cruiser

Garbutt,
Actually, I did do a search for NextG and got 122 results prior to my post.
If I had posted this comment inside another post on NextG it would have been buried inside that post and not have been seen by to many unless they read that specific post, so in answer to your question, yes, but for what I concider a very good reason.
Cheers,
Cruiser

Sorry cruiser dont agree, but so have I and many of the posts are to old for an up to date assessment.
The more phones out there means getting results of use, up to date to see who is getting a bum deal.
I have to make a big investment in mobile phones, so dont want the wrong one, and having down time with them , plus the 300k round trips to
adelaide to get a repair done are not a happy thought.
It is a very important subject relevent to this site as most 4wd, either working or
camping etc. would have some kind of ph system, and communication in this day and age is important, just like this internet!

Well,
I have had Next G since march this year and have found it at least as good as CDMA in the areas I have travelled. At home here in
Forbes NSW I get far better Next G than I did with CDMA. I have a LG tu500 which is supposed to be one of the less than perfect models. The wife has a Samsung on a $20.00 plan and it is also fine. No external antennas.
I also use the tu500 for data attached to the laptop and find it excellent.

At the end of the day Cruiser look at it like this, you have no option but Next G at the moment. Get the best handset as I believe many of the handsets are the reasons for some of the problems. I have been using it for 12 months now and couldn't be more happy. Between Next G and Nissan 3L TD posts it would be a close call for Number 1...!

I think by some of the replies that some of you have missed my point.
I have already been down the road of swapping to NextG, but my point was that in order to share info from peoples experiences of swapping from CDMA to NextG, it might have been worth David setting up a completely seperate part of the site just dedicated to the subject of NextG.
That way anyone wanting to ask should I/what brand blah blah will have all the info on one page, not spread across 122 individual posts.
Just thought it might make it easier to troll through the myriad of opinions and options.
Cheers,
Cruiser

Cruiser,
I don't believe it's any different than Toyota vs Patrol, Engel vs Waeco, Cooper vs BFG, Oztent vs Black Wolf, Hillbilly vs
Bedourie, Garmin vs Magellan, etc. etc. etc.
All of these topics raise themselves from time to time and sometimes there is new information to file away.

Hi, My 2 cents worth, I have got a Nokia 6120 Next G and some of my mates have other brands , Telstra , Samsung , etc and if we are standing together in the hills ( top)
mine often has full coverage or near to it and their's may have some or none at all, the 6120 is not a blue tic phone but I think it must be stronger than TZE 156. apparently they are having a few drama's with the new " Telstra Country phone , looks the goods on paper but??
Haven't been really bush yet, but I am satisfied so far.
Cheers Des.

I'll second the Nokia 6120. Work as a rural contractor in remote areas and the nokia works where others with the so called "blue tick" will not. A bit of cunning marketing i feel.
my 2 bobs worth,

So who is using one of the other 2 Nokia's??
I had a look today and saw Nokia now has 3 handsets for Next G.
