Hi all ,i am wondering if any of you guys have any ideas on what to use for the rubber seal [apart from the original ]on the front windows on a 60 series ,i am chasing the seals that fit in the door and the window comes up between them .
I had to replace my quarter light windows and for easy access i took out the seals but the rubber was quite brittle and i lost half a seal on the inside when reinstalling .Would clark rubber do anything like it ?.

If my memory
services my correctly I was able to get generic one some years ago from some car parts place in West
Melbourne and it was sold per meter. Try Burson for starter.
Good Luck

Yes Pete , Clark rubber does do seals for that purpose , bought some from them a few years ago for the old GQ, just make sure you take a sample of the old one with you.
Cheers.......Dave

Hi borgy ,i tried clark rubber today and eveh though they have the rubber that the window actually slides in it doesnt have the rubber that sits on top of the door and the window actually goes through it .
I ordered one from toyota today and although it looked like the right one on the computer screen ,it actually ended up a third to long and the profile was totally wrong .pete

If no luck with them, try Seal rite at
Southport on the
Gold Coast.
They stock nearly everything including panels for older cars.

Don't know where you are.
If in the
Sydney area the place for all that sort of stuff is a mob called "The Old Auto Rubber Company" at Dunheved (Nth StMarys).
They have the felty stuff that goes in the door on bith sides of the glass, the rubber seal that mounts on the outside of the door and lays against the glass. Every conceivable door and window moulding and lots of front/rear screen mouldings.
In addition they do or did stock "cheat panels". These are the bits you use to make a repair to rusted out Quarter panels, many vehicles rust out that part of the front guard behind the wheel due to mud sitting there. With the little cheat panels you just braze/tig in that bit without having to buy a whole quard.

the mob to contact is Fitch the rubber man 2 George st Hindmarsh SA he carries every extrusion known to man & at the best prices, will send to any state. If you have any as a sample just get a ink pad & put the cut end on & then on a bit of paper you can then fax the exact size
