I am looking at going to the Cape in July 2008 and I would like to transport the 100 Series from
Sydney to
Cairns and back. I have contacted a couple of transport companies, buy the Vehicle must be empty of all personal belongings and that aint so good for me. There are 5 vehicles going from
Sydney so maybe a deal to transport all would be good.
Has anyone done this or are there any good suggestions??
Cheers
Dave

Assume the problem is you don't have the extra 6 days to drive it yourself?
By my reckoning - about 34 hours driving time.
12
Sydney to
Brisbane, 22 brisy to
Cairns.
Friends in Brisy go to
Cairns in one go with a 4 hour nap around Mackay and sharing the driving.

Oops, not the clearest, 3 days each way, about a 1000k a day.

Hi Dave
Toll, Coastal, Patricks, run car carries up the east coast.
Also look at rail but the turnaround will be longer. All don't like personal belongings as vehicles can get broken into ( batteries, spare tyres etc).
If you have five vehicles you could find a subbie that would be interested.
If you have a UHF try calling up a car carrier and ask the driver if he has any leads. Ch 29 on pacific or ch40, use company name and call him a
carpark, better chance of reply.
Many carriers are empty or near empty on their run south to Brisvegas. So back should be no problem and a better rate.
