Hi all. Could anyone recommend a nice fairly quiet camping spot for Australia Day weekend, preferably next to water. Something within 4 hrs drive of Geelong. Has to have access for 17ft van and allow dogs. No water or power needed. Thanks

I'll be heading back via Wagga, Cootamundra, Young, Cowra, Wellington, then on to Tamworth and finally Coffs Harbour. So you will have to wait until the National Gathering for an up close and personal look at Darkie LOL

Cheers Kev

You may also like to consider the 90 mile beach between Seaspray and Golden Beach. There are approx 24 designated camping areas along the stretch between Seaspray and Golden Beach. Camping is free and dogs are permitted. Whilst the 90 mile beach fishing carnival is on the same weekend the camping is on a first come basis but you would be sure to get a spot in one of the camps. You camp about 30 metres from the beach all along this area. Apart from the camp areas near Golden Beach, I have never seen them so full that you couldn't get a 17' van into one of them. The road from Geelong is up the Princess freeway through the citlink tunnel and out on a duel lane freeway to Traralgon then onto Sale and out to Golden Beach via Longford. It would be just under a 4 hour drive with van from Geelong.
If you haven't been to the 90 mile beach before, i think its one of Victoria's best kept secrets.
