Afternoon All,
We went to Mt
Wellington today. It was overcast, windy and bloody cold. It was worth it. Though if you have not been up there, the road while not to steep, it is bendy and narrow in parts, but it is sealed all the way up. 10C on
the summit, but with the wind I reckon about 2C.
Everything here is book solid now, we now have neighbours with another three or four people/vans due in, 30m X 30m, slopping block, there aren't alot of room. We have booked in for 19 days and the manager/maintance man said that this area is only really made for overnighters, not day/weeks stays.
We have a curb going through one annexe and footpath through another...which make it interesting when dashing to the loo.
Anyway the kids are having fun, so it is worth it We start to use are See Tasmania card after Christmas period.

Debbie been up there a number of times and it's always bloody cold. Bush walked through the snow part way up one year when we were over there.
Tassie at Chrissie time not a bad place to be. If you're still there for the new year try and get down to the docks New Years amongst all the
Sydney to
Hobart yachts

"Bloody cold" eh I see nothings changed then.
My 4 trips up there at all time of the year would match that description perfectly.
I have managed to see
Hobart at 39 deg C and I must say I prefer it "cold" at least you can dress for it.

Within 19 days hopefully you'll see some snow up there.
Boxing day 2005 there was still some snow on the ground on Mt
Wellington, and it was falling aound us.
Between Christmas and New Year 2004 there was some snow around in the Hartz Mts, and still a few patches on the ground near Cradle Mtn.
The
Hobart docks are great after boxing day.
Have a good time.
Andrew.
