Has any one had a supercharger fitted to a 100 series 4.5 or 4.5 nissan and do you have fuel economy figures together with boost pressure?
What type and is it water injected or intercooler fitted?Richard

Wherethe... I have no experience whatsoever with a supercharger on a 6 cylinder, but I like your style - a REAL blower - good to see they're not totally a thing of the past.

I just sold a serious blower - GMC 4-71 for a small block V8.

You just have to love that instant boost - no lag, and that lovely whine from a belt driven geared blower.

Go for it.Talk is cheap ...

when i was a young lad ..a long time ago i might add lol i had a morris mini 1000 deluxe with a Wray vane supercharger pumping 9lb.
always took off in 2nd gear 9 (after about a week cos I lost first real quick) but hell could it fly. Went harder than a Cooper S. Now i want to get a S and blow that but they are fetching too much these days.

Anyhow looking at possibility/feasability/economics of putting a eaton on.
A lot of money but if fuel economy is same or better than i might. Theory says one should get better economy if not pumping ridiculas psi.Richard

I used to own an S, running a 1310cc heavily worked motor. The cam was so lumpy it wouldn't idle below 1500 revs. It went like the clappers. Couldn't bloody afford one now - jeez Louise they're exy.

Ah, they were the days ...

Anyway, graduated to a 407ci nitrous injected '56 Chev ...

Ah, they were the days ...

Good luck with the blower. Oh, and remember, you'll only get better economy if you stay off the loud pedal.Talk is cheap ...

Hi Richard
Last time i priced one they were 7-8k from LPG1 in Melbourne. They are all the go in Merica for $2500 dollars, bolt on yourself.
Visit www.lcool.org for plenty of cruiser facts on this matter. Cheapest way to get 50% more power as they run at 6 psi.

Hi Andrew fitted one to my patrol for $5500 with 12 mth warranty, this was done in Brissy so maybe some one in Melbourne is trying to take you for a ride. This works out about the same as a intercooled turbo with far more advantages. Col

Yep they were trying... with our $ fetching 66 cents o/s, 2.5k over there equates to 4400 here plus the shipping costs.
Who did your installation?

hi i S/C a 92 diesal patrol couldnt be happier no downfalls and heaps of tourqe, have heard of people S/C tojos but apparantly the harmonic balancer cant handle it and when it lets go takes the radiater and fan with it. The unit i have is the same as the one on the holden it runs at 8pounds of boost, it is not intercooled or water injected and price wise about the same as a turbo intercooled. economy varys on how hard you push. Did a trip up the creb track with a troopy naturally aspired diesal and me towing a camper trailer and i got about 25ks less than him for the same amount of fuel, i can work at lower revs and higher gears,ie round the 1000 to 1500 revs when out bush, i have done about 40,000ks and have not had any problems.
