We are travelling to
Broome July/August 2008 and are wanting to determine the best parks for us. We have three
young children, do not need power, would prefer grassed and shady sites as
well as clean amenities.
Any recommendations as to which parks might be our best bets?
Thanks in advance.

We stayed at Vacation Village in 2007.It was the only one that would take bookings in advance.

Stayed at the Palm Grove Caravan Park.
Friendly service and good amenities.
Broome is very busy at that time of the year. Book in advance.

The best one to lob in for an unpowered site would be
Broome CP. They have more unpowered space than the others.

Cable Beach is pretty good. The one at
Roebuck bay looked pretty good too. Quite a few people recommended it to us as
well. You will really need to book at that time of year. I think your problem will be getting in even on an unpowered site. Lots of people have permanent bookings.
Broome gets really busy.
Population goes fom ~17,000 to over 60,000. We try to stay away from there in the peak times. Have a good time.

Don't overlook the overflow van parks at that time of year, there are a couple running at that time. The one at the pistol club is great and the most affordable. With two kids the average price was $45p/n and one of those was without water. We opted for the $25p/n pistol club. Very clean amenities but not a lot of grass, most parks are gravel in WA anyway.
Happy travels

Roebuck Bay C/P ask for a beachfront site...view to die for,
just beautiful, swim there too. A few bucks exta but worth it.
Amenities are fine, & walking distance to town....oldbaz.

Bundy,
We took our chance last year in July and ended up at the PCYC which is one of the overflow areas. Price was reasonable as were the ammenities. We didn't need power though. OK for a couple of nights.
