Has anyone installed a Precision Vision rear view camera unit?
If so, what are your experiences, good or bad.
The reason why I ask is that I have the opportunity to acquire one at a substantial discount from their advertised price but I still think the price is rather high compared to other brands on the market.

Give us a link to see what it is as I for one have never heard of them.
What is the price you are paying as you can do a reasonable one for about $400 with two cameras now Or even less with a small screen

Hi Graham,
Here's the link http://precisionvision.com.au
I have been offered the 4wd unit together with the clip on mirror for $499 (installation extra).

Craig,

Looks a bit costly mate.

I ordered my system over the web from Brash Imports based in Melbourne and I am very happy with it.

Different monitors to choose from (I have the clip on mirror version shown on the web page) and various camera options too.

I found David Brash very responsive to an installation issue I had with the original instrictions. I believe this has since been corrected.

Well personally I think you will be disappointed with the reverse mirror screen.
The reason is that it is designed to be just that, a mirror and even though it shows a good picture on the ads it isnt like that in reality.
My one which is a good quality one does not show the pics anywhere near bright enuf in daylight. a separate screen is 100 times better. I have put a screen protector over it and its still not very good so am going back to my 3 1/2 in screen

THe Precision one looks OK if a little expensive but with that diagram you should have no trouble installing it yourself

Hi Graham,
Thanks for your input.
I have seen the mirror screen installed in my neighbour's Tourag and I must say I was very impressed with the quality of the picture, both day and at night.
I really don't have room for a screen to be installed..not without some serious holes being drilled..which I really don't want.
I'll try Brash Imports and also contact Derek and ABR to see if he can supply the right stuff for me.
Are you there Derek??
Once again thanks Graham.

Did the Toureg have tinted windows cos the amount of daylight makes a big difference and if your car is untinted and that one was it will look vastly different.
JUst an observation on the Touregs araound here have very dark windows
