Yeah, what about the motor mechanic who was working under a fourby, the hoist failed and he was crushed to death. Ha ha
Or the painter doing his jog, top of a ladder, it slipped, he fell to his death, impaled on a picket fence. Ho ho
Gee, I forgot about the tree feller, fell 30 meters with his chain saw in hand. Would you believe he landed on it. Ho hum
The fisherman, out trawling his net, got caught up in one of the ropes, pulled into the
water, finished up as fish feed. Oh
well!
The four wheel driver out with his family for a bit of fun. Chose a steep slope to show off his skills as a driver, lost control, vehicle rolled, all killed. When will they learn.
Why would someone want to make fun (or light) of someone who is involved in an accident whilst going about their business. Someone could have been killed. Yeah sure lots of damage to their pride, they'll get over it - it happens like that sometimes.
So before you make fun of someone who was unfortunate to get themselves into trouble, stand back, take a long hard look and imagine how you would feel in a similar situation. Not too good eh! After all, they were just doing their job - for the community -like many others.

Hi DIO,
I repeat that one of the greatest parts of the Australian culture has always been our ability to laugh at ourselves. The loss of that ability will be a tragedy of great proportions. If you read the article that was pointed to you will see the following information - Neither officer in the pursuit vehicle was injured but the accident caused minor damage to the police car. Which part of that bears any resemblance to the scenarios you are painting above? Do you find them funny to have posted them with laughter after them? The injured parties in this case were the thieves trying to get away and how they actually got injured is not even mentioned. The position that the car ended up in is what is funny, not the lead up to it or anything that happened afterwards.
Have you had a funny bone extracted recently?
Tim.
