I'm thinking of getting a handsfree car kit and Force cradle for my Nokia 6120 Classic, either a Ck-7W or CK-15W.
I'm also in the market for a new GPS. I like the look of the Garmin Nuvi 760, and notice that it has bluetooth capability.
Would this perform the same functions as the above mentioned Nokia car kits?
If so I could kill 2 birds with 1 stone.
Is the Nuvi compatible with the 6120?
Has anyone paired these?
Be gentle, I'm a techno retard:)
Cheers
Glenn

The 6120 does not appear on the Garmin web site as compatible phone however, neither does
mine but it works...
You may find your phone works using the 760 but not all features will work. That's what happens with
mine. No Guarantee it will be the same for you though.
My phone is a Samsung

I've got the Nuvi 660, and both the Nokia 6120 and Nokia N95 are compatible with it! This may or may not help. Cheers. My guess would be they are OK and would match.

Hi Glen,
I have the Nokia 6120 and the Nuvi 660. The bluetooth handsfree works
well but the contacts list and SMS text to speech doesn't work.
My wifes older GSM Nokia 6111 has all features work perfect, funny to hear SMS messages convert to speech. Having the contacts on the large GPS touchscreen makes dialing very easy.
Even without all features working properly, I would not hesitate to get the Nuvi 760 and the Nokia 6120, both are class leading in their repective fields IMHO. And a software update for the Nuvi in the future is always a possibility.
Cheers

Thanks for the info guys. I might go ahead and buy the Nuvi.
I'm not too fussed about making calls, but I do want to receive them.
How is the clarity of the speaker and mic?
Does the FM transmitter send the phone audio through the car stereo, or is that asking too much?
Cheers

Hi Glenn,
I find the bluetooth phone clarity accepatble. The Nokia carkit in my vehicle with microphone on the A pillar and speaker in the footwell is better, but only marginally. I find any handsfree kit never as good as a phone used normally anyway.
Don't know about the phone thru FM transmitter, haven't tried that but would be interested, may have to try it out :) But do know the MP3 player thru the FM transmitter is great.
Cheers

I would have to say the Nokia CK-7W car kit I have in my vehicle is excellent, now that my 6120 has had a firmware upgrade applied.
The CK-7W has always been a great performer. (I use it for a 6021 GSM phone as
well)
Prior to the CK-7W, I tried different methods including a Supertooth II and a plug-it-in-the-ciggy-socket piece of crap.
I would have to say the use of the CK-7W car kit is much better than holding the phone to my ear, even when not actually driving.
Coupled with voice activated dialing and auto answer and hang up, a quality car kit will pay for itself in one fine.

Apparently the FM transmitter will send phone conversations through the car stereo. That sounds like a good thing....clarity wont get any better than that.
Found a comparison between the Nuvi 760 and Tom Tom 720.

I have a Garmin 760 and use a Nokia e65 with it. As with alot of phones you have to manually bluetooth your contacts over to it the first time but then its all good.
A tip for the mic is to buy the external one, it was not listed when I brought
mine but the 660 mic is the same.
