Hi
I have posted this before but didn't get much response so I'm hoping to jag someone that didn't see my last post.
We are about to travel for a year and need remote internet access. Does anyone use Gan or Bgan?
Please don't tell me to get NextG wireless as we already have that. Yes it's ok near towns, mines etc but USLESS in remote area's.
Thanks for your help.
Regards Lyndon
Ps. does anyone know how to contact the member Ian@mtDare?
As i believe he has used this system.

G'day Lyndon,
before I got to the end of your post, I was thinking of Ian. He's got all the comms he needs now mate. See post 47539.
All I can do is refer you to the Australian sites that support the brilliant Thrane & Thrane units. Try AST Australia (wwww.asta.net.au) or Electroctech in
Sydney for good technical info and support.

yep, he was trialling the service.
in a similar vein, he was out proving tracks for Hema just before he died. A significant loss.
back to the service, you will pay for this feature that's for sure, but I believe if you can filter your incoming/outgoing to the necessary content only, then you will save considerable time/costs.
Recommend you don't talk to telstra (if they even offer this feature) rather someone like those I mentioned earlier.

nay to both sorry mate. Talk to Electrotech, I believe, for the real, in practice advice. I hold them highly.
