I have done a search on this subject, but I would like the latest info on whether to fit a Daikin heavy duty, or genuine Toyota clutch to my 1997 HZJ80 Diesel Landcruiser.
I have had conflicting advice from two different reputable service providers, and now am totally confused.
Has there been any major improvements in quality in either of them in the last 12mths or so.

I have fitted Exedy Safary Tuff clutch (i.e. Daikin) instead of Toyota. *VERY* happy. It is definitely hevier duty then Toyota and has 50% more spring load and that definitely helps with increased torque after turboeing. Always will use Exedy instead of OEM.

PS. In my other car - Magna Sports - I also fitted Exedy. And also incredibly happy.

Hi Serg,
Thanks for the reply I'll check it out today, with all the clutch shudder that's been experienced by everyone in the last 10yrs I thought I'd inquire and see if these clutch people have come up with a satisfactory replacement for asbestos clutches before I spend my loot.

Thanks heaps Serg
I live on the NSW central coast halfway between Sydney and Newcastle, but I appreciate your kind offer.
Serg could you tell me how many kls you've done since fitting the new clutch,I had a talk to a (good) mechanic yesterday and he said he fitted the same clutch as yours to his mates cruiser and he seems to be pleased with the result but he is not sure how many kls he has done.
