Kev & Darkie
I have done a search and found nothing, zip, nudda, zero etc about the following question LOL
Has anyone done or know if you can fit a 60L engel through the rear side doors of a Landcruiser when the seats are removed.
As we are leaving the 2 kids at
home when we go to the National Gathering I am hoping that the Engel can fit where the rear seats are in Darkie.
I am feeling lazy and don't want to remove the seats before the attempt if someone knows it wont fit :))
Cheers Kev

Axel,
I could get my old 40l Engel in the back
seat of the triton but not the newish 60l, the 100 series has a wider door so I think it will fit if the seats are removed and the front seats are forward for the install.
I may just have to give it a go next week when I don't need the seats in Darkie.
Cheers Kev

G'day Kev
I assume you're talking of Mitta Mitta??
If so- do you know of any 4WD trips organised there??
From what I've read so far- this one doesn't have a patch on the Tassie one !!

There are a number of tracks and
treks in the area. Good view to be had from Mt Benambra. We are not going but will drop by and have a look. i know of 1 person from our club that is going to there.

But where will all the firewood go ;))
It may
well end up on the tray but just considering the options ATM.

Yes I have but even a tape measure can lead to a false sense of success due to the overall angle of approach etc, due to the door opening.
My back is in no condition to try to attempt the impossible.
If it can fit then I will do it, ATM it wont fit through the door with the seats in but by my calculations (with the tape measure) it will if the seats are removed, pending the doors don't restrict the required access. Hence my question.
Cheers Kev

Why not put the fridge in through the back, then push it towards the front and lower it to the floor level once the seats are removed.

G'day Kev
The answer is yes. I had a 60 litre Engel in the back
seat area of my 100 series LC for work. Seats out and _Affordable_Storage_Drawers.aspx and cargo barrier installed - the fridge fitted OK with motorbike tiedowns holding it in place.
Hope to see you at
Innamincka in July.
Cheers

Gday Kev
you could go down and get the cardboard box it came in or a similar one for trials.....another option I have used for similar shaped items you could get them through the front door, accross to the back with the front
seat layed right back (in sleeping mode), then mooved across the other side where you want it to go. You may be able to remove the 'stopper' so the back door opens a bit wider, or remove the door completely for installation if you don't plan to take it in or out too often.
or....put it in the front
seat where you can rreach it easily, and put the passenger in the back.....my wife would glady make that sacrifice (she doesnt read stuff on this site LOL)
Cheers ANdrew

Both great ideas Andrew.
I may use the front
seat idea if she complains to much for the return trip LOL
It will only be for selected trips so I don't want to have to remove the rear doors just to get a fridge in. If it comes to that I'll trade the 60 in for 2 x 32l ones (which may happen yet).
Cheers Kev

Hey Kev,
you could always get Rusty on Steroids (Oxy} out.
Loosing a bit more metal you won't notice the difference, only for road noise.
