We have done it comfortably in one day, (Innamincka to Arkaroola)in a Hilux.Suggest 2 or 3 days, with leisurely camp/s at Monte Collina Bore and/or Strezlecki crossing area.

I would agree about camping at the bore. A hot bath is welcome in the bore....don't get too close or you'll cook...and too far away and you'll freeze :)

And the starts are magnificent

Andrew, on our first trip that way a few years back, we went up the B/ville track in 2 days, staying o/night at Mungerannie (great hot pond), and 2 days down the Strez, staying at Blanchwater ruins, on MacDonnell Creek. The connecting road through Cordillo Downs, was quite easily done in 1 day. There are many alternate spots on both tracks to stop, most are very peaceful, take your own firewood though. These times will allow you to have a good look around & won't require you to travel for too long each day.

We did Innamincka - Arkaroola in two days, with a stop at Cameron Corner. Quite an interesting, easy detour through the dunes, but watch out for cattle. Good camping at Town camp in Innamincka and the pub is great. Arkaroola is a bit of a gem. We stayed three days. There's a lot to see around Innamincka; Cooper Creek, Coongie Lake, Waterhole with rock carvings.
Innamincka to Brisbane has plenty of things to see as well. The Dig Tree of course, the oil fields, sand dunes, Leopardwood opal mine.
