My better half and I have been entertaining the thought of (both) doing a 4WD course prior to "our big trip" planned for this time next year. We are both novices and we will have our 16 month old back
seat driver with us. Is there a choice between group education or one on one? If so we would prefer the latter. Do courses cover recovery procedures etc.? Can anyone recommend a polite, helpful, patient and reputable trainer to teach us the capabilities and limitations of our Triton dual cab?
Thanks in anticipation."Live today as if there may be no tomorrow"

Yes they go into recovery and you get to do it as
well.
you could join a club and go that way, as you get benefits of knowledge of other drivers and where and what they have done.

www.google.com.au search for "4wd Driver Training" or pick up any 4b mag from newsagents.

Thanks for the reply Bruce. I've searched Google and the trader section here and without any personal recommendations Getabout 4WD Adventures will get the nod. IMHO the hypebole with all the training is overwhelming. Everyone seems to be the best at everything! I was actually hoping that there may be a general concensus among the
forum users as to which
driver training was the most personal and professional."Live today as if there may be no tomorrow"

I can tell you our club Driver trainers, our President is one, who has reached the highest level possible in the Vic 4wd Association, and 2 others are second highest level...
Training is over 2 days at the club property at Heyfield, and after a period of I think 6mths get a key to the property to use yourself anytime you like...
Can HIGHLY recommend them, doesnt matter what car you have.

Hi Wombat
Check out a few clubs re joining as a member
It may cost a bit Joining Fee & Annual Fee at most clubs & usually include very good quality
driver training, most probably a lot cheaper than paying for a professional course.
The other benifit of a club is doing special new member trips or trips with like minded people, every trip u do with a group is on going training.
I'm with TLC.

Wombat, I recently completed a 4WD
driver training weekend conducted by the Nissan Club.......it was great. Compare a private run course $600 for a weekend or $80 for the club, plus I get great members discounts, magazine each month and more...
They covered everything on the weekend course and safety was
well emphasized.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
