Can anyone recommend a trailer manufacturer, preferably in the eastern or south east suburbs of Melbourne. I need to get a heavy duty Off-road (box type) trailer made for upcoming trip. Have let my fingers do the walking for a few places but had hoped someone may be able to recommend one from past experience.

Cheers. Mick.

Mick
Glenn from All Terrain Campers makes excellent trailers. I have one of his off road models and have just finished towing it 18000 km from Sydney via the Gulf and the Gibb River road to Broome then back via the Tanami, the Old Ghan track and the Flinders. It handled it all superbly. It got the thumbs up from the mechanic at Drysedale Station on the Mitchell plateau who has seen a lot of trailers fail up that way. Glen's factory is in Seven Hills here in Sydney.

But Glen does not seem to want to modify his design to suit your needs/requirements. I approched him prior to getting my trailer built and he wouldn't alter his design to suit what I wanted. Hence he didn't build my trailer.

I use Wilmax Aluminium Fabricators.

If you drop me an email andrew@vividadventures.com.au I can send you a link to a gallery of images.

Mine has done 50,000km or so (including long trips through the Kimberley, the Simpson, Tassie, and aoo sorts of other places) and is going well (and is for sale). I am getting him to build me a slightly bigger one.

Cheers
Andrew.
