Hey that's neat eh, already added a link on my 4x4 webpage and uploaded it, Like the last bit about the "Roo Bars" because that's exactly what they are....for Roo's , 4x4 bars are not heavy enough to be a Bull Bar,
As for Scruby, one day in the future ....as sure as the sun rises in the East he's gonna die and we'll all be happy , wonder if I'll live long enough to witness that.

Doug you must spend every waken hour updating that site of your's. It seems to have grown every time I see it.

How's Perth ATM. Pretty good except for the totally crap band that's playing on Hartfield Pk oval tonight. Added to the teanagers party in the house to the rear of us so all is quiet. LOL.

Beeping retic burst a fitting and drowned the pool pump tonight also so doing really well. Thank heavens for curcuit breakers or the pump would of got fried.

Hi D, yep fortunately they don't happen all that often. The party went on to at least 3.30am. Extremely loud, surprised nobody called the cops (me included). The DH's started to rev the hell out of some old clanger by the sound of it at 3am then do burn-outs. Felt like going there this morning an start a lawn mower and garden vac outside their windows, but that would of put the &&its up the other neighbours as well.
11.30 they started to yell happy birthday and then for the next 1/2 an hour yell Aussie Aussie oy oy oy.

Morons.

Great article. Has many solid facts that the anti-4WD groups lack/forget.

One thing that owning a 4WD makes you do, is check your weight before a big trip. I just got the GVM upgraded on our LC100 as it came in at 2960kg on its own (yeah 400+kg of accessories) - a factory GVM of 3260kg doesn't give you much to play with.

How many smaller vehicles have you seen with its back side on the ground ? is that even safe ??? :)

Dr Jon Jenkins was a NSW Parliamentarian at one stage (Not sure if he is still in Parliament??) and has always been a source of good solid info and facts countering the anti 4wd lobby.

Gday all
First timer for the site. About time I said something!
I have now had my first look at the PCA's website.
They are actively performing their objectives here with "the promotion of a culture of concern" . It's just a shame that it is only designed to polarise motorists with no "real" objective.
I am still trying to find their charter.

It always makes for a good laugh when you find this senseless dribble about 4WD's being the pox of our roads. Only problem is that it is not so funny when people start believing it. Keep up the good work here. It's up to all us to put these superfluous reports and their uninformed authors to rest.

I had a call from one os the Sydney papers' last week ( One of those calls where they won't tell you where they got your phone number, won't provide you with their number or tell you what time they have their dinner) wanting me to subscribe.
The caller couldn't believe that I had not bought a newspaper for over 8 years.
"Got tired of reading sensationalists dribble which wasn't worth my time". He couldn't believe there was any other way of finding out what was going on in the world!

There's a new show, Moment of Truth, starting this week for sensationalists who love being in the spotlight and huniliating themselves in front of a huge audience.

When is Mr Scruby appearing?

Regards
Paul

A good read...I like the bit about reduced registration. I would like to see rego very cheap (almost free) and a driver's liscence fee of the $600 or so for rego and insurance, and possibly go further to cover the comprehensive insurance on the cars you will drive, as you can only drive one car at a time, and would make it a lot easier to afford a small economical car for the little trips on your own etc.

We need 2 cars, a large 4wd (Patrol) and a 2nd car (commadore)

Every time we go to Darwin we have a dilema, which car to take. We very rarely take the comadore. Sure, it uses less fuel, but the roos and scrub bulls around the place make the Nissan a far safer option. If they want to ban the Nissan from the city, what do I do, put the commadore on a trailer and tow it to the suberbs, then swap cars.

I think some of the anti 4wd mob need to get out more!

Cheers Andrew

Very good point Andrew.

You have to remember that 90% of our population live in 10% of our land mass. Some people think that the Hume Hwy is outback Oz. And I bet most of them have never hit at roo at Hwy speed.
