What do you wear in the bush? (bit of tripe)

I come home from work each night and put the overalls on. Couple of reasons. Their loose, comfortable and Damn Dog can jump all over me.

In the bush, the same thing applies. Their also cool during the summer and comfortable to sleep in.

Mate an I got into a bit of an argument about this over lunch on Friday and agreed to disagree.

Jeans are ok, but not the measure of overalls. What are your thoughts?

LOL

Hey Bonz,

Maybe I could bring V8 Diesel in his "Sequinned jump suit, cape with screaming eagle motif and a 6' diamonte studded cane".
I know just the right bar where you would prob. be the only one that looked out of place. :-))

i wear overalls for work every day and they are the last things i would ever wear if i dindt have to. Even though i have the lighweight ones they are hotter than wearing a couple of jumpers.
i usually wear shorts and t shirts. if its cold i buid a bigger fire

Stop it. I'm having nightmares about naked and caped crusaders swanning around the bush.

PS I wear whatever the weather dictates.

Bloody Hell Kim!!!!
I couldn't bring myself to open this thread last night....I had to sleep on it....and all it did was give my bloody nightmares!!!

I'm glad I've opened it now! Should have done it yesterday and I might have got some sleep!

Forgive me please, but I had these horrible thoughts of you parading around in your purple and yellow bike pants with that bloody Daniel Boon jacket and Davey Crocker Hat. Even that wouldn't look so bad if you swapped your shoulder bag Latte Thermos for the authentic powder bag (gun powder! not make-up).

I'm just so glad you left them with the thought of an old bugger wandering around aimlessly in a dirty old pair of overalls looking more like farmer brown than a regular Sydney sider off to the mardigras ( what ever they call that poofterfest they have).

LOL
Cheers

Gidday Hairy

No mate, it probably was'nt one of your best decisions.

Don't worry though, an old fart like me can't figure out how to place a picture on this site.

Crabs or crustrations? I think I'll stick to fleas. Gives Damn Dog and I something to talk about in the morning....it's a bonding thing.

LOL

Overalls mostly. At work, we would spend at least 15 hours per day in them, sometimes longer.
Our overalls are black, which we also wear in the engine room with ambient temps upwards of 50 degrees C.
Sometimes when we are expecting things to go wrong, we go to sleep in our overalls for quicker reaction times (after they have been worn for a couple of days).
Unlike a lot of people that view overalls as something that is worn over clothes to keep the clothes clean, we dont, we got no where to wear clothes too after taking the overalls off anyway. Most do wear some form of underwear under the overalls, and then an equal number would be 'commando' under their overalls.
Away from work, I still like to wear overalls because of their ease of use, although would not wear them when touring in the bush, but will wear them if in the bush chainsawing a couple of loads of firewood.
Also unlike other clothes, no-one gets too upset if the overalls are crinkled and not pressed. Also makes washing easier.

Cheers,
Dion.
