Wondering if anyone has fitted a genuine Nissan GU snorkel themselves. Or if you have had a poorly fitted snokel, fitted by a Nissan dealer. regards, Michael

goodday micheal
I had mine fitted by a nissan dealer so that if the job was stuffed up i had some come back instead of wondering how i went about doing the job myself and what happens if i stuff it up
it was 1 job they seem to have done properly after some of the othe bits its been on for 2.5 years

I fitted one (Nissan) to my patrol a few weeks ago. Wasn't all that hard to do really.

I took the guard off to do it. It took a whole day to do so be prepared.

I took the guard of to make it easier to cut the hole in the inner panel.

Mark all the holes, drill them and try the snorkel on to see if they all line up before you take the guard off. I had to elongate one of mine slightly.

When I put the A-pillar bracket on I had to pull the snorkel head down to the A-pillar about 25-30mm. There wasn't much stress on it.

The rest is pretty strait forward and is easy to follow in the instructions.

I sealed it up with sika-flex (urethane)

Hope this helps

Cheers Luke

Michael,

When I had the 4WD shop and before that when I was fitting for another 4WD shop I fitted hundreds of snorkel over 10 years.

The best tip that I can give you is to measure twice and cut once.

hi i fitted my kit, no guard removal 2 hours but have been in car industry, it can be done at home follow all intructions, and do double check before drilling, when you cut out paper template it is the important part, and wont fit precisely to the guard 'A' piller door seams, juggle the lines on the template to suit all the seams, there is enough room if you have to elongate the holes, and always repaint drilled holes to stop rust, something that is not done in dealer ships
