The wife and I are going to Brisbane next week and wish to check out new tents, preferably of good quality eg Black Wolf. As the range on offer in Darwin is rather limited we would appreciate the name and suburb,of any camping stores who have a large display of tents we could have a look at.
Thanks, John

Were in Darwin have you been looking??

I can't believe the mob at the N.T General store couldn't help, as I have been buying camping gear off them for 20 years, and if they didn't have it, they rang up someone and got it for me.

Cheers Steve.

If you are looking for Black Wolf try these guys. We got ours there and they were a couple of hundred dollars cheaper than anywhere else. I even asked the guy to recheck the price because it seemed too cheap.

You've just missed a 25% off sale at Anaconda. I picked up a Blackwolf 300 lite plus there a couple of weeks back.

BCF do blackwolf but not all the sizes/types (they have a 270-size range made just for bcf).
Not sure if tentworld do blackwolf.

Your best bet is to head to Springwood as you have Great Escape Camping, Downunder Camping and BCF all within 200m of each other on Moss St, and Anaconda is just a couple of minutes down the road. (Great Escape and Downunder aren't open for as long on weekends or on Thursday nights)

just looking at some junkmail from the letterbox, BCF have a blackwolf turbo lite FS 270 tent in their catalouge for $599, if you go to their website and become a club member (free of charge) you can get it for $450. don't know if that's a good price or not, just saw it and thought i'd mention it.

Thanks Axel,

IF you are meaning Brisbane Disposals, they have closed down their Strathpine store and are based at High Street, Kippa Ring (Redcliffe area) now.... i went there 2 weeks back to get some ammunition containers and found an empty building.

Or is there another camping store moving out of Strathpine? :-)

Oh that one...thanks. I was there at the same time and didn't realise that they were closing down.

I might have to go back and check them out before they close.

Noticed the closing down signs driving past yesterday

It is unfortunate to see them closing,. They often stocked a slightly different range to BCF/Anaconda and provided an alternative.

Alot of their gear yesterday was 30% off and they still had alot there!! Might wander back in a few days when my wife isn't watching so closely.

I was in Darwin today talking to my mate who has run a camping hire business for ten years, he has made it a success.

I mentioned your post about not being able to find a tent in Darwin, and that you were after a Black Wolf, his answer was, its a great name but a bleep tent, He has used Oz trail and still has some of his original tents from ten years ago.

I went to The N.T. general store, BCF and Mitchell's, there was no shortage of tents to be found.

We still use a Oz trail Capricorn we bought 8 years ago, personally I support the local guys, but if you find the tent you want in Brisbane go for it.

Cheers Steve.
