This charger is value for money and it does everything the Ctek will do.

The charger has a number of other advanced safety features including automatic short circuit protection, anti spark circuitry, and reverse polarity detection. The charger also has a series of LEDs to indicate charging status and battery fault conditions. The ergonomic design includes a top mounted carry handle and cable storage for the battery leads and clamps. Size270(W) x 220(H) x 120(D)

I am pretty sure this is the same charger that Kmart have had on sale for $75 on and off over the past few months. I think you will find the numbers are all the same, just rebadged for sale at Kmart.
Used mine for the first time yesterday on my new 100ah AGM Deep Cycle battery and it worked fine. From memory they have 4amp, 8 amp and 16 amp models.

I agree with Kim.

The Ctek XS-7000 is the most versatile choice for your needs.

I bought mine at the recent 4WD show in Adelaide and got a good price.

You won't be disappointed.

Stick with the 25 amp C-Tek. Does everything a charger can do. Not cheap, does have a 5 year warranty, unlike the value for money Kmart one, it IS weatherproof, and it is an 8 stage charger.
Ebay is the cheapest, but could come unstuck where to take it if you have a warranty issue.

With value for money in mind , The Jaycar units of reasonable capacity are pretty good. I have a 12A unit which can also be switched to 6A for smaller batteries like my motorcycle SLA.
Have had it for a year and it worked well in the van when I had a powered site. It has a small cooling fan which shuts down when the battery gets to charged maintenance mode. It is left on whilst my batteries are in storage and LEDs indicate battery state of charge (to some extent) Check the Jaycar catalogue for other options Cheers

Just to throw a different angle we have the 15 amp CTek and it works great with no dramas just connect push the button and forget it, it does all the rest and keeps the battery / batteries at peak.

Yep,

When I started looking Ctek had the reputation as being the best chargers but had a big gap in the range. Went from 7amp to 25 amp. Then they introduced the XS15000 15Amp model and I went for that. Does the 115AH battery just nicely. Not too fast and not too slow.

If you have a look at Campertrailers Yahoo group you will see these sorts of comments about Ctek chargers from longterm users.

"Mine has also just died"

"I have had a couple fail (one even overcharging a new battery to destruction) "
.

Mike, I am sure there is NO manufacturer in the world that hasn't had a product fail. The important thing is how the retailer or manufacturer responds when you have a problem. Any feedback back on repair or replacement of these failures?
Not sticking up for Ctek in particular, but applies to all products.
Cheers Krakka
