I will be doing the CSR in July.

Heading out from Wagga Wagga (NSW) to Adelaide, Nullabor to Wiluna, CSR to Billiluna back down Tanami to Alice and then home to Wagga.

I have done the Alice to Adelaide via Coober Pedy a couple of times already so would like to know if there is another way I could come back from Alice to Wagga.

I havent been out to Woomera yet - maybe there is a track/trek/road that I could take from Woomera to Broken Hill and then on to Wagga??

I guess it depends on your plans... but I suspect it is time you got a map ;-)

There's a couple of big lakes in there!Lake Torrens, Lake Eyre and Lake Frome... plus a bunch of smaller ones!

You could come down the Oodnadatta Track then down through Frome Downs to Yunta or up to Corner Country and down the Silver City.

Andrew

No problems with maps - I have PLENTY of them - digital and paper.

"Did' part of Oodnadatta last year when returning from Simpson - have driven completely around Lake Eyre (and flown over part of it)

Will now go and look at my maps (probably choose the digital version as it is late and my poor old eyes aren't what they used to be) and will check out your suggested Frome Downs, Yunta, Corner Country, Silver City route.

Thanks for the suggestion

#1 Take the Old Andado track from Alice Springs, then down to Mt Dare, Dalhousie Springs, then Oodnadatta, Marree, Flinders Ranges, and by then, you'll be a days drive from home.
or
#2 Take the Plenty Highway across to Boulia, then south to Birdsville, Walkers Crossing, Innamincka, Cameron's Corner, Broken Hill, Home

You may want to slip across the Simpson Desert depending on whether you've seen enough sand by then.

Just below Oodnadatta head out through the Painted Desert and down to Coober Pedy then across to William Creek - all good roads.
