Paul

When you say trips, basically there are just day trips to do out there. Great place though.

Billy Goat Ridge track is full on - however you can sit at top or bottom and watch and enjoy even if not confident to do it.

Trip out through Sandy Bore Holes and back past North Hills Bore is an experience and has (subtle) tricky bits - care needed but ok if for exerpienced people.

Trip out to Dinnertime Springs also great. We had one vehcile fall into a deep ditch but otehrwise route has attractive bits and is easier than others.

Be advised I've seen people get in a bit of strife all over the area. It can be challenging depending on your 4wd experience and vehicle.

The managers will guide you and keep control about who is doing what each day.

Cheers JD

Just to add to JD's comments, there are two ranges on the properties. Iron Range has the harder tracks including Billy Goat.Bendleby Ranges is a mix of easier tracks plus the odd tricky section. You need at least a full day on each. There are many tracks in each area. There is also a test/training track next to the homestead, which is good fun.

The campsites are excellent with clean longdrops, plenty of firewood is provided, and good showers near the homestead.

Hi Voxson,
You're right - it's Hungry Range. I was working from memory after a couple of beers - Iron Range is in Cape York, so I can't work out the connection.....

Yeah no worries Phil.
Iron Range is home to The Pascoe River, part of The Wenlock etc...

To answer the first question, Billygoat probably the most breathtaking, fear factor and a bit of thought is required for wheel placement in parts and then North Ridge Track right around to The North Hill.
That can be the first day gone,,, then Dinnertime and surroundings can follow the next day.

just returned from trip to bendlebys in the flinders ranges.
i have travelled most tracks in the flinders ranges and would consider the billy goat track in the hungry range although short one of the most challenging tracks and rewarding .
the bendleby ranges adjacent to the hungry range was very beautiful but very dry and would be wonderful if the owners Warren and Sue could recieve some much needed rain they are great hosts and have excellent camping facilities and i will be back soon.
