Planning our July trip here. I'm just looking at options to travel from Old Andado Track to Ruby Gap, via Todd River Downs. But my Hema map show route from Old Andado Track to Todd River Downs is a private road. Any suggestions appreciated. JD

I have just had a look at my Westprint set. This is noted as 'no permit required". I think it might on the public access route.

Check also the westprint.com.au website. they also have a good travellers forum.

Friends did this track 2 years ago, it is a good earth highway, mush better than the fincke road which is very corrugated, this railway bedd is reportedly smoother.

Hi Jdwynn,

At the top end of the Old Andado track there is a gate. A couple of kms past the gate there is a track off to the right which used to go through to Todd River Downs.

This track has a "No through road" sign on it and it means what it says.

I tried to get through one night and came across a very serious steel post and wire fence which cuts straight across this track. Tried to find a way through (gate etc) in both directions - no go.

Maybe you could ring Todd River Downs and ask for an update.
