A friend has just shown me his Tanami Fuel Pump, which plugs into a compressor, other end into the can of fuel and pumps the fuel directly from jerry can into fuel tank. Being a widow in my sixties who travels alone with my caravan, I would find this a huge help to save me trying to lift 20lts of fuel to top up my tank if/when needed. He bought his up the north coast of Qld. Does anyone know where I can get one, preferably in the Brisbane area? Many Thanks
Carolyn

Carolyn,

Actually, you don't even need a compressor. The Tanami Pump will operate from an inflated spare tyre, or a simple hand or foot pump.
It only needs a couple of pounds air pressure to force the fuel out.

Now for the bad news.
It would appear the manufacturer, Latstone Fluid Systems, may have gone out of business.

The URL no longer accesses the web site they used to have.
The company was based in Queensland and Opposite Lock were distributors of this excellent device which I have owned for several years.

Perhaps you could contact the local Opposite Lock dealer in your State and see if they still have one.

Bill.

Carolyn

If you can find someone who is handy with an oxy welder(gas axe) I can give you instructions on how to have your own one made. I made one up from bits and had a friend braze the bits together. It works a treat.

You may contact me through my website below.

Cheers

Willem, I have not had any luck contacting you via website and not sure whether the protocol allows me to give my email on this forum, but am interested in getting the instructions on how to have a pump made in case I am not able to buy one.
Cheers

According to the manufacturer I purchased the last one & have yet to use it, if you think that it would be useful for you I would be happy to let you have it for what it cost me.
You may email me at patrol6ATnetspaceDOTnetDOTau.

Checked with ARB in Brisbane and they have never heard of them; perhaps other stores may have.
