It's been discussed many times on many forums.

Whilst I respect your intentions Marty, I doubt you will change the world.

Best Wishes,

Jim.

It didn't mention using the spelling checker when spelling hard words like etiquette.

I tend to dislike presentations. Especially those given in "foreign" vocabulary, even if they are still "in English".

In presentations such as powerpoint, I find turning the sound off altogether helps. Of course that means the visual content then needs to be visually clear, straight forward and created without any reliance on verbal content.

What then remains, is whether I am interested in the content.
If not, I select the "X" in the top right hand corner.

G'day Steve,
We had this discussion some time ago and came to the conclusion that this is more a cyber campfire than a forum, although David may not totally agree with that. see ThreadID: 56625

Nah, it won't do here

Forums should be robust with lots of banter, laughter, good tips and bad tips and the occasional argument.

Dunno.....

Never seen any arguments on here.....

Or, even any differing opinions on tyres, trucks (oh, sorry "cars"), fridges, batteries, snorkels, fuel types/brands, best state/s, tents, trailers, sleeping bags, flags etc etc.....

I can't recall anybody having ever asked a question about a subject that has already been covered in a previous thread either.

I reckon this is a very well-behaved forum......always fresh ideas and no controversy whatsoever.......

Time for me to take my medication I think......;-)

Gday

I reckon you should have to get a licence to use Eploreoz. That way we all would know the RULES & REGULATIONS before commenting.
And if we all had to pay a huge registration fee as well David could fine us if we accidently upset someone.
And demerit points so we could have them taken off us if we used a descriptive word like "fat, black, white ,hairy" or anything else that could be taken as insulting.
I think this post really does have merrit.

LOL

$hit....how many points do you loose for sarcasm???

Cheers

That's what I like about this forum. It really is a reflection of the world we live in.

There is always someone trying to turn a profit.

And it's almost always the banks.:-))

Let me warn you Roachie financing Willem's froum etiquette fines could seriously damage the bottom line.

I think that Duncs is spot on. A forum like this is really a reflection of the people who make it up, and they are diverse. As much as we would like the whole thing to conform to a set of rules we are all happy with, it ain't going to happen (we couldn't even agree on the rules). Like the rest of the world, people disagree with each other, experience and opinions vary and we all take a different approach.

Even the constantly repeated posts have a use. Sure, point out that these posters should search the archives first but, as they are often new posters, I view it as another potential wealth of experience joining the 'community'. Another Coopers discussion is a small price to pay for that I reckon.

In terms of etiquette, the only thing that really gets up my nose is the times when a question is asked and people will often go to some length to answer it without a single follow up or 'thanks fellas' from the original poster. Just common courtesy really.

At the end of the day you would all be much better off conforming to my opinions and way of doing things, but given that my wife and kids won't, I don't suppose there is much chance of you lot falling in line is there?

Cheers,

Matt.
