Hi all ,

I know I saw a post on this a while ago , but I have searched to no avail .

This morning I had a force cradle / bluetooth kit installed and now the phone keeps going OFFLINE when in the cradle . I know I saw a post in this which says there is some kind of code you can enter into the phone to stop this happening .

Can anybody help me with the info on this ?

Thanks ,

Willie .

Willie, I am not sure of the answer to your question but wonder where did you get the cradle from please? I am looking to get one and just wondering where people sourced it from. David

Hi David,

You should be able to obtain the Force Technology cradle (Part # RC-CR6120) from Allphones, or Crazy Johns.

You may even get them at your local Telstra Shop.

Don't pay more than $79.95 which is Force's RRP.

Bill.

Willie,

Try it without putting the phone in the cradle.
Does the phone connect via bluetooth OK?

Also you need to pair the phone with the car kit.
Has this been done?

I can't see the problem being the cradle itself as it only supplies power to the phone and a connection to an external antenna.

I have mine pairing with a Nokia CK-7W car kit and have not had any problem since upgrading the original phone firmware to the latest release to stop a known echo problem.
I also use the force cradle.

You may find the phone will drop into power saving mode after a while.
A way of avoiding this is to buy and install a little application called "Lights On" which is available from the Nolia Software Market on www.nokia.com.au.
Cost is EURO 7.99, OR about $13.00 AUD.

Willie
My 6120 went to 'sleep' after a preset time when in the cradle even when the power was connected.
I installed the lights on software and the screen now stays lit as long is there is power to the cradle from the fag socket.
You can download the lights on software for free, do a google search and you will find it.
If it gets too hard you might have to come for a drive to Hornsby ;-))

Willie,

Menu – Settings – Connectivity – Bluetooth
Check that Bluetooth is set to – on
My phone’s visibility – Shown to all

Right scroll to select paired devices
Press Options (bottom left of screen)
Select New Paired Device and follow on screen directions.

If you're lost – pages 50, 51 of the manual.

We lost our blue tooth set up and had to re paired it. No problems since. Think our problem was son in car using his Nokia different model hooked to bluetooth which confused it.

Hi Robyn,

Just for future reference, most car kits, will accept multiple paired devices. Usually, the last paired device will take preference and when this is not available, any other paired device should connect.

On our Nokia CK-7W car kit I have both my Next-G phone (6120) and the Bride's GSM (6021) paired.
One thing you need to what for is if one phone has last paired with the car kit and you get in the car the next morning and your phone doesn't connect, it is probably because the other phone is still in range.

After driving off, you should hear an audible sound when the stationary phone "drops out". Your phone should then connect, maybe automatically, but sometimes you may need to recycle power to the car kit.

Once familiar with how the car kit operates with bluetooth, you should experience little trouble at all.

Bill.

I use mine for navigation awith TOM TOM and a bluetooth GPS.
Had just an ordinary cradle with power from cig lighter and even tho I have the lightsout set to 30sec it doesnt go out as long as its on external power.
Went down the coast on Saturday and it stayed on for the 2 1/2 hour trip OK.
Which firmware is the problem one please so I can upgrade if necessary

I got a Force cradle and a RFI all band Next G and 3G aerial from Telstra at Pacific Fair for $181 $104.95 for aerial and rest for the Force

Graham,

I think it was v3.70 firmware that I origionally had in the 6120 when I bought it. If you have an echo problem you would certainly know about it.

v4.21 is the later firmware fix for this problem.

Type *#0000# into your phone and it will show you the current firware version in the phone.

You dont need to ring Nokia.
If you read the page correctly the number it asks for is on the phone on a WHITE PANEL UNDER THE BATTERY and is a number like 500321
It is the bottom number on the right hand side of the panel

There actually is a code number on the battery. It is under the black panel on the edge of the hologram and u scratch it off to reveal it. It is only used to verify that it is a genuine Nokia battery and has nothing to do with what you are doing

If you bought the standard $79 Force cradle it doesnt have bluetooth and therefore cant be paired to anything.

If you bought a bluetooth earpiece to pair it you must hold the button down until it stays on (30sec) ????depending on make.

Further to above pairing instructions after you have done it, reset the phones settings to Hidden and then anything that you happen to walk past that is also on "shown to all"wont try to hook up.
Also make it a preferred device and connect automatically.
Any other bluetooth device also has a pairing mode which must be enabled to do so.
Am at present updating firmware and so far it has taken over 90 mins and hasnt finished d/loading yet
Cheers

Best way is to save it when d/loading and then run it from the folder u have saved it to. Then you dont have to re/dload it. R u using vista if so may need a different version of the thing
