The DC27 is rated as a Deep Cycle battery (80A/h)
It's CCA rating (cold cranking amps) is given as 570cca which may be a bit light on for the diesel.

The DC31 is also a Deep Cycle battery (100A/h)
It's CCA rating is 625cca, a little higher than the DC27.
Your vehicle manual should specify the recommended CCA required for the diesel engine.

When my Overlander 700cca Cranking battery died 2 years ago I replaced it with a Delkor DC27, which I had previously used for 4 years as a Deep Cycle battery running my fridge and lights etc.
I removed it last week so it won't die on me when I go away, as it's 6 years old now !!
