The first Bomb was set off in EMU a few hundred
miles from
Woomera,
Woomera was the town set up for a rocket range by Len Beadell, purchase the CD The Shepparton Talk by Len it is a great Yarn.

Hi there,
My Dad was at
Maralinga and he told me about some bombs that were set off. However I believe there was a lot of radiation fallout from these tests. Take care.
Well worth googling
Maralinga.

don't know about
Woomera but the first bomb went off at EMU which is on the
Anne Beadell. After this there was a bomb site built and used at
Maralinga.

The radiation levels are now considered safe but you will need permits to visit the site.
GPS Co-Ordinates:
Site Totem 1 - 28deg.41min.55sec.Sth.
132deg.22min.19sec.East
Site Totem 2 - 28deg.42min.43sec.Sth.
132deg.22min.39sec.East
There are some pics of the site when visited a few years back on my web-page under 'Trips', '
Anne Beadell Highway'

The first few bombs set were off at the Bikini Islands I thought.
Then at Totem 1 and Totem 2.

Then another 7 or 8 off at
Maralinga???
It would be nice to get permission for there. I would like to visit the Aboriginal
Stonehenge.
Cheers

What amazed me is how close the Totem 1 & 2 sites are to each other.
They let one bomb off then a couple of weeks later they did the other which must have meant that the bomb project people worked in a highly contaminated area when errecting the towers and setting up for the second blast.
Heres my picture of the Totem 1 Marker just to complete the pair.
