Gidday all,

I have a Logic Gear SL350D GPS and would like to know can you run Ozieplorer on this type of GPS. Any tips or hints.

Also tyre pressures

I have an 03 Hilux Dual Cab T/D with Bridgestone 694 245/70/R16. I am currently running 34 for the road, 24-26 for the dirt and about 18-20 for the sand.
Is this what you run in yours?

Thanks in advance

Cheers
Greg

Greg,

OziExplorer requires Microsoft Windows operating system, or for a PDA, Windows Mobile operating system. (OziExplorer CE)
So I would have to say, No!

As far as tyre pressures go, yours sound about right.
I run the same size Bridgestones on the Jack and use 34 on the blacktop, 28 on dirt and 18 (or lower) on sand.

It looks like it runs Windows CE so what you need is to run OziExplorer on a PC, which then allows you to upload/download to the GPS device, on which you run OziExplorerCE.

Greg,
From the brief glance I had at the Logic Gear SL350D GPS web site I'd say no you cannot load OziExplorer on to it. That unit seems just like the Tom Tom, Navman, Garmin and plethora of other In Car Navigations Systems available these days. They are all very useful but to be able to use Oziexplorer you need to own a PDA style device with an inbuilt GPS. ASUS is one brand, Hema have brought out their own brand that looks interesting and there are others too. You can also get a PDA and a separate GPS that talks to it, buy the relevant mapping software such as Tom Tom, Garmin, Route 66, Destinator and so on plus Oziexplorer ( Not the cheapest option though).

Can't offer much advice on the tyres. On my 80 Series I run my BF Goodrich AT's at 40 psi on the road and rarely venture off the sealed stuff these days. There are people out there on this forum who can give you much better advice than me on tyres.

Call their help number and ask. If it runs Windows CE then it should run OziExplorer OK. You should be able to run it from an SD card.

I have a Logic Gear 488XL and run OziCE...so try this.

Download the Zip version of oziexplorerCE from Ozie Web Site - the new development version is easier imho to use.

Unzip it on to a 2 / 4G SD Card using a card reader on your PC/Laptop. Make sure it is not a HCSD.

Add your map files into OziexplorerCE / Maps folder. These maps must be in .ozfx3 format

Once loaded put the SD card in the GPS UNIT

To use oziexplorerCE in LogicCrear GPS

From Settings option

Select -Application

Select - magnification graphic option

Select - up arrow

Select – up arrow again

Select – storage card

Select – OziexplorerCE

SCROLL DOWN

Select – OziexplorerCE_arm.exe ( second last option)

Select – back option

Select – back option again

PRESS LARGE GPS BUTTON – loads / runs OziexplorerCE program

To access the logic gear software in LogicCrear GPS

From Setting option

Select -Application

Select - magnification graphic option

Select - up arrow

Select – up arrow again

Select – NANDFlash

Select – Logicgearnavigation

SCROLL DOWN

Select – logicgearnavigation graphic – think it is the last file

Select – back option

Select – back option again

PRESS LARGE GPS BUTTON – loads LogicgearNavigation software

Goodluck!

Foilks, most of the personal navigation devices run Windows CE in the background and most (with a bit of fiddling) can be unlocked to run many other applications including Ozi. There is a ton of information on the net on how to do this to the various makes and models. eg - Good info on Navmans here :http://navmanunlocked.wikispaces.com/Unlock

I just finished installing Ozi on a Navman N50. Works a treat!

I stand corrected. All very interesting. I've learned a few things from this thread.
