Am looking at purchasing Oziexplorer and have viewed the details on this site. Current price is $130. Does that include the PC version as well as the CE version (for PDA)? Or do you have to pay extra for that.

Also, what are the best (ie. most detailed, most accurate) maps to get for use with oziexplorer. I live in Victoria and want to cover areas like high country, Mallacoota etc... Or am I better off scanning my own paper maps instead of paying dollars for already digitised maps?

Any thoughts appreciated.

Hi Simon,

You only get the PC version, the CE version is extra.
Check out the OziExplorer Webb page - www.oziexplorer.com/

I use the NatMap 2 set CDrom 256K maps, available from the Exploroz shop
I find that they have plenty detail for what you want to do.

It is a lot better than scanning and regeristing your own maps.

Hope this helps

Only problem with Yahoo user Group is the large volumes of unwanted SPAM you receive.

Hi Simon. Have a look at www.gpsoz.com.au for another great GPS site. Also, you can send inquiries directly to the folk at OziExplorer. Des or Andrew seem always happy to respond.

Don't scan your own maps - Arrggghhh! The NATMAP 1:250,000 series is very accurate, although they don't show all the minor 4x4 tracks.Smile, you're on ExplorOz
