Well Wayne has called again and his scratchy sat phone conversation went as follows:

Arrived at Georgia Bore. The weather was good, 20 deg with a cool breeze and clear blue skies.

The tracks were a little boggy after the rain but are drying out quickly. Have seen many camels and at last another convoy on the track.

There are new toilets and new fireplaces at Georgia Bore now and despite the rain there is no water in Lake Disappointment.

At Cotton Creek, fuel was $3 per litre.

Tonight they have arrived at Well 26. The track was fairly soft sand with quite a few corrugations.

(Sounds like they are having a ball)

Regards,

Wayne's Wife

The camels were the biggest concern to me.

They are wrecking everything - waterholes, eating everything down and basically wrecking everything - it is hard to walk a more than a metre without seeing camel tracks and rarely do you do 100 metres on the track without fresh camel tracks being the most recent travellers on the track.

To me this is a nasty sleeper problem that is as big for Australia as global warming.

No doubt getting fuel - there is no fuel dump this year.

He may also have been going out to Ruddall River NP.

Dear wayne's Wife

Hope you and all future travellers enjoy the use of the toilet and BBQs that were installed by TCWA on a voluntary basis last month.
A group of 30 people in 15 vehicles transported and constructed these facilities for the benefit of the general public, free of charge

Please forward our thanks to the volunteers responsible for the new facilities. I am sure they were appreciated by the convoy.

(hopefully I will get to see them one day)
