Thanks to all those kind people who responded to my query re: quick tents.
Have had a look in Rays Outdoors, Anaconda and BCF today and we have come away impressed with the Black Wolf Turbo 240.
Quality and workmanship appears top notch, its only a matter of justifying $990 dollars against a touring tent of around $300.
Once again thank you to every one who reponded with real life experiences with these type of tents.
We need now to find somewhere that gives a good price for the BW around the Sydney area.
Cheers
William

There are sellers on Ebay such as this one.

I prefer to buy from a local shop, so we bought our Black Wolf Tent for 15% off at a Snowys sale (camping store in Adelaide) and it ended up being cheaper than the Ebay sellers after factoring in postage.

If you join Anaconda's free club they have member nights with big discounts on almost everything 25% inc off Black Wolf tents, and they are already about $100 below the RRP.
I got a turbo light plus 240 for $599 verses RRP of $850 or thereabouts.

Only problem is they had a sale last week. They send you an email a week or so before it is on, but you may have to wait up to 3 - 4 months, they seem to have 3 - 4 a year. Also you must turn up on the night, usually Thursdays.

Thanks for that info Peter,
I was trying all weekend to find a decent price.
Budget camping is reasonably close to home as well.
I see free shipping for orders over $750 as well.
Well played that man.

Have a look at the BLack Wolf Turbo Lite 270 Plus At B.C.F. It is exclusive to them and was $699.00 normal price. I purchased mine on special for $599.00.This was June 2007, the price may have changed since. It`s a bit bigger and cheaper than $990.00

I also have the turbo 240 & am extremely happy with the tent itself. I rarely use the fly & find the overhang over the front door way too small anyway.
just fyi i also bought the deluxe fly, side panels, & the screen room and find them all poorly designed & hard to use .. if you search the archives i did a report on them about a year back
