When I design a route on OziExplorer (on the PC)- I designate waypoint colours for different things. eg- TurnLefts & TurnRights are Black on Yellow, POIs are White on Red, Camps are White on Blue etc.
I then- thru Route Editor, make the 'route'. When the route (.rte) is sent to the PDA- Ozi CE just show all the waypoints in the route as Black on Yellow !!
How can I save the colours as designed into OziExplorer CE..
Thanks

Signman,

Not going to be much help to you as I’m still experimenting with OziCE.
May I suggest you email OziExplorer with your problem. They should respond within a day or two. (They did with me)

I’m still familiarizing myself with Routes and Tracks for OziCE.
Not real keen on the number of waypoints you need to create to get a half reasonable visual Route displayed. Too few waypoints and the line doesn’t “follow the road/track” shown on the map. It's just a straight line between waypoints.

I prefer the look of the Track created with track points, then joined by a solid line of whatever color and line thickness desired. But of course you cannot “navigate” along a Track, the way you can along a Route created on the PC.

Any tips that would make me change my mind?

Bill.

Bill,
As far as the direct 'route' line- I have made mine minimal size (I think thats 1) and made it light grey so it doesn't look obvious- coz as you know it is point-to-point.

I've been using the PDA (and Ozi CE) for over 3 years now. Have used it for trips to Cape York, the Beadell Roads, and Tassie, and found it very useful and convenient (size wise).

I have had it set up with many routes, and it was very useful in some situations where the POIs were not obvious, or there had been a road re-alignment etc.

It's just now that I'm thinking I could probably make it more useful with a bit of playing, and trying out the options. I'm definately not an expert, but if there's anything I may be able to help you with- let me know !!
Cheers

OK,

I have now created a route I plan to use between Copley and Cameron Corner, via the Gammon Ranges, on our way to "The Gathering" at Innamincka.

I'll give it a go to see for myself how functional it is.

Cheers,
Bill.

I've made a few routes for our trip in August:
Broken Hill via the Flinders to Copley
Copley to Dalhousie
Dalhousie to Birdsville
and a bit more to do yet...
