I have a caravan and the stove in it does not heat all that
well. The trouble is gas burners just don't heat like the decent sized ones on the stove top at home.
Has anyone seen a stove top only not oven/griller that has bigger burners like the ones at home. I would like to have a 2 burner only as it is a small offroad caravan.
Am prepared to pull out the old one that is only 4 years old

The burners in caravan stoves are smaller and apparently this is to prevent excess build up of poisonous gasses. You will find most van stoves suffer the same problem. You can drill out the jets a little and this may help however it is definitely not recommended.

May be worth getting the regulator setting checked.
It may not be delivering enough gas to the stove.

Get it checked by a someone licenced and above all trained to do the work. You wouldn't want any accidents - would you.

Hi John, problem sounds similiar to one I had in my van gas stove top not long ago. Before replacing the burners, get a gas specialist at a caravan place to disconnect the copper line from the bottom of the regulator and check for oil buildup in the line - this can easily be fixed. The additives in the LPG can congeal and block the flow with gunk, especially if the bottle has been sitting for a while.
cheers
