I am sorry if some were offended by the photo's I posted.
I did not notice the caption under the first photo or I would have
deleted it. The pic's come from a private source and there more
which I could have posted. I put them up to show the horror
crashes that happen on our roads. I have often wondered when
travelling the G N hwy and G E hwy if the drivers of road trains
coming towards me are OK. As the pics show and the reason behind it you never know.
Thanks Brian

Don't worry. If more crashes like this were publicised perhaps the message would get through to some drivers that think they are bullet proof.
Its certainly regrettable that the driver died.

However some of the crash ads on TV in NZ before I left were as equally graphic if not more so and showed the result of inattention and carelessness only too well.
Even after not seeing them for 6 years I still remember the horrible images and think "Perhaps that could be me" and drive a little more carefully because of them.
The "enough is enough" campaign here does nothing in comparison unfortunately

Sorry Mark, I must dis-agree with your comment.

These photo's ONLY shown the carnage left from a person or person's misjudgement, who is to blame is irrelevant, a loved one is not going home.
I didn't know the details of this accident (It appears to be WA, I'm living in Brisbane) but it hits home how dangerous roads can be for ALL users.

There are far more graphic VIDEO's on youtube where death and dismemberment is commonplace, I for one will never get on a motorbike after seeing some of the horrific injury's caused by other peoples actions, some stuff, you just can't watch, point is it HAPPENS to people doing nothing wrong

I think "hiding" these photo's won't achieve anything, showing people what could happen in something that people perceive as high and mighty, as a prime mover, may re-think there own mortality, when they are on the road.
Mark G indicated that he had some involvement with such accident recoveries and I wonder if he can home from such scenes a little more cautious after seeing first hand what can happen.
I think more people should see, P Plater's especially, and understand that things DO go wrong

SHANE; ive seen things in rescue that no one should ever see but i was just thinking of the driver's family.having been there done that and seeing the aftermath does really hit home what can and does happen when things go wrong.when you see pictures on tv or internet you dont really appreciate what you are seeing until its real and right there in front of you in real life. thats just my thoughts anyway.

Yes, absolutely, Any of the Emergency services do see things that no-one should see.

The point I was making was that these particular Photo's, I my mind, where not THAT offensive, no more offensive than what you see on the news.
All that we have seen here is the brand of fuel the truck was carting, and some of us know what brand of truck it was, but no other ID.
The truly sad thing is that tomorrow, this will be yesterday's news, where we will all, have moved on.

the cars cutting oin front of you made me realise the different stopping/safe space in front of a truck, I am so much more conscious of that now

Hi Bonz, since i have been with my partner and have taken her out in the truck and shown her what happens, she has a completly different attitude on how she drives and deals with heavy transport on our roads, she didint have a clue before hand and both of us have been driving for many years, and i feel this is a problem right across the board. It suprises me how many people dont know what the signs at the back of trucks mean, only found this out by turning left in my semi and watching the trailer wheels climb over the top of a vehicle, nobody hurt but the abuse i copped because i was a truck driver and use my size to tke over the road, even though she didnt know what the signs meant, luckialy the coppers put her in her place. I for one stopped and reflected on the fact that I usually feel safer driving around in our big solid landcruiser instead of the family sedan. When you see the total carnage caused to such a large heavy vehicle as shown in the photos it might just make me and others take that extra second to check before acting.

Cheers

As a full time Fireman for 19 yrs this is reality !We see it daily. It does slow you down and make you realise that things can change in an instant.NSW a few years ago had adverts on billboards of bad road accidents,I think ignoring reality willnot help the road toll !
Condolenses to the families.

Brian,

Apologise for nothing.

The shots you put up were far less gruesome than we would expect from the TV News or Newspapers.

You highlighted, and demonstrated carnage that can happen. And you did it responsibly.

You did not do a damn thing wrong.

Sleep well. Maybe, just maybe, your actions may help save a life.

King Regards,

Jim.

Whats to apologise for. for goodness sake. These views of the wreck were all over the 6 oclock news within hours of the accident. Im sure the TV stations are not issuing apologies to any viewers who may have been offended and Im equally sure all of you who have requested the photos be removed have not contacted these same TV stations to request the same.
What happens when they show a few shots of a bad airliner crash? Do you all go and hide under the bed? Accidents happen. Face reality & learn from it otherwise one day it will rear its ugly head and bite you fair square on the asp!

Not offensive at all. i use to work at a Truck tow Truck Company. You would be surprised at the family and friends of the driver that come in to have a look. One that stuck in my mind as I was searching for the number plate looking at the cab. It was as flat as a tack. Any how there was a fella hobbling down toward me. I said mate can I help you. he said yeh im looking for my phone you seen it. This was a couple of hours later and was walking. I told him to buy a lottery ticket. I think it wouldnt hurt for all new drivers to take a tour down to the local tow truck yard.

I stopped at a driver reviver at Bookham NSW years ago that was being run by a volunteer rescue group. They had VERY graphic photos on display for all to see, just about everybody could be heard to say how much it affected them and how they would slow down IMMEDIATELY...

I reckon stuff like this helps to curb the road toll way more than all the speeding cameras you can shake a stick at...oh wait...graphic photos don't raise any revenue, do they...???

THE most dangerous thing we do in life is travelling inside a moving motor vehicle... my inlaws freaked when we moved away from Sydney fearing that we'd all be eaten by snakes or burnt alive in bushfires... but everyday driving to work I see someone causing or coming very close to causing an accident...
