Eric,
Have just christened
mine on a 2 week trip down the Darling to Kinchega, Mungo,
Broken Hill,
Wentworth and
Mildura. Compared to the Magellan Sportrak I have persevered with for years, it is magic. Now that the full user manual is available on the website, I have a better idea of its perks.
I found the topo maps at 100% most readable with some minor inaccuracies.
In the main I used the full map screen. In this mode annoyingly, only the first two digits of your speed are visible.
When you reach a map edge, it will eventually bring up the adjoining map but I ended up doing it manually most times.
It does not like a route being altered once it is active. I found that deleting any wayoints before the next waypoint got things going again.
On cold mornings, it was noticeably slow to arc up.
Setting up a route becomes easy with practice. Now that the manual is available, I now know how to include a saved waypoint into a route.
My limited use with the street nav has been trouble free. I was very surprised that it even showed the streets of a town as small as
Hebel.
My only criticism is that in the 4wd nav mode, it won't give you an ETA on any of the screens.
Overall, I am very happy with it.
Hope this helps.
